Every innovation program answers the same four questions: what success looks like, what data you need to gather, who you need to involve, and how the work flows. The labels above take each one in turn.

Frequently asked questions
What should an innovation management software feature list cover?
Ten areas cover it, and the library above is organized by exactly those: campaigns and challenges, submission and collaboration, engagement and recognition, discovery and intelligence, evaluation and scoring, lifecycle and portfolio, reporting and analytics, integrations, configuration and adoption, and enterprise security and compliance.
Most evaluations weight three or four of those heavily and treat the rest as a baseline. All 200+ Qmarkets features sit under those headings, so you can check each one yourself. Tick the ones that matter and export the list as a scoring sheet you can use against any vendor on your shortlist, including us.
Which features use AI, and can we use our own model?
26 of the features above are AI-powered and marked as such in the library. They run on Iris, the AI layer that sits across every stage, covering clustering, enrichment, agent analysis and expert matching. Iris agents work to criteria you define rather than a fixed model of what a good idea looks like, and every output can be inspected so a reviewer can check the reasoning instead of accepting a score on trust.
You can bring your own key, so AI runs against your own provider under your own agreement. Everything else in the platform works without a model behind it. Read more about Iris.
What does Qmarkets integrate with?
Native apps for Microsoft Teams and Slack let people submit, comment and act on notifications without leaving the chat environment. Beyond that the platform connects to CRM, ERP, PLM, ALM, HRIS, finance and PPM systems, with a documented REST API, webhooks and SDKs for anything a standard connector does not cover. See the integration detail.
Are all the features included, or do some cost extra?
The large majority are included as standard. A smaller number are limited by tier, or carry an additional cost where they involve significant configuration, third-party data or dedicated infrastructure.
Where a feature sits outside the standard package we will say so during the evaluation rather than at contract stage. See how pricing works.
How much can we configure ourselves without development work?
Almost all of it. Workflows, evaluation criteria, scorecards, submission forms, roles, permissions, terminology, AI agents and homepage composition are all self-administered through the interface, with no code and no professional services ticket.
You can start from a best-practice template and adapt it, or build a process from scratch. Multiple workspaces let different business units run entirely different processes on the same system. This is usually what separates a feature being present from a feature working the way your program actually runs.
How do user roles and permissions work?
Access is role-based and granular. You control who can see, submit, comment, evaluate and approve at each stage, and permissions can be scoped per campaign or per workspace rather than only globally.
The same applies to people outside the business. External partners, customers or suppliers can be invited into specific campaigns or review steps and see only what you intend, which is how most technology scouting and open innovation programs on the platform are run. Provisioning runs through SSO and SCIM against your existing directory.
How do we build a business case for innovation management software?
Most cases rest on what you can evidence from the program itself: what it costs to run, and what it has actually returned. Implementation cost is tracked against realized return at initiative level and across the portfolio, alongside conversion, cycle time and bottleneck analysis.
Reports can be scheduled, exported, or fed into Power BI, Tableau and equivalent tools where the reporting standard sits outside the platform. Most programs build the first case on a handful of delivered initiatives and widen it once tracking has been running a few quarters.
Where is our data held, and how is it secured?
Data residency is configurable, so you can specify the region where your data is stored and processed. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with multi-factor authentication, audit trails, defined backup and disaster recovery arrangements and a contractual uptime commitment. Qmarkets is ISO 27001 certified. Read the security detail.
